Calare Properties Acquires MACOM’s Corporate Headquarters at 100 Chelmsford Street in Lowell

Along with this transaction, Calare will develop an adjacent 58,000 SF Class A office building to establish a world-class corporate campus environment for the global firm

Calare Properties (Calare), a private Massachusetts-based real estate investment firm and operator, announced today that it has acquired 100 Chelmsford Street in Lowell, a 150,000 square foot (SF) R&D and manufacturing facility with a 20-year leaseback to MACOM Technology Solutions Inc., an international manufacturer and supplier of technology products. The acquisition was managed as an off-market transaction.

In conjunction with the acquisition, Calare plans to develop an adjacent 58,000 sf Class A office building at 144 Chelmsford Street, to be leased by MACOM for a 20-year term upon anticipated delivery in 2018.

MACOM has been based at 100 Chelmsford for over 25 years, and has leased the adjacent property at 121 Hale Street, which is also owned by Calare, for the past three years. Upon completion, 144 Chelmsford Street will serve as the centerpiece of MACOM’s vibrant corporate campus, supporting the two manufacturing facilities.
